I personally think the risk of not receiving updates is pretty overstated. I’m more concerned with when applications stop supporting it - which normally happens because libraries stop supporting it.

This is how I feel as a software engineer. I’m sick of learning new libraries every time fashions change.

I’m staying on 10 until it really doesn’t work, and then moving entirely to Linux. I already don’t use windows much and I’m not missing most of it.

Let’s face it, they will be. As a non American I’m wondering how I can convince our nation to further distance itself from the US as I just don’t think they are a partner we should be too tightly coupled to; they’re displaying all the signs of an empire on the edge of implosion.

I’d be tempted to do it just for the chaos factor.

I tried arguing with an anti COVID vaxer recently and pointed out that in my country there were 14 deaths linked to the vaccine, but over 65M doses administered, which means that you’re significantly more likely to die in the car on the way to get vaccinated than from the vaccine itself - but apparently I’m the fool for trusting government collected figures. I don’t understand how they think the government is hiding all these supposed deaths.

We spent all our public health goodwill on COVID. A sizable portion of the population will never accept any further restrictions for public health reasons. A smaller but still concerningly large portion will not get any new vaccines because of this.
