  • Blockchain (simplified) is a giant excel spreadsheet that you can never edit, only add to. I struggle to think of any applications that is a benefit for, and even then append only databases would already do it better.

One of the benefits is supposed to be decentralization, but people tout that as a benefit for things like house deeds, or identification, or whatever. Imagine how massive an append only excel file of every house with every owner change etc etc included in it would be. Then we once again only have the people who can afford to store that much data storing it, and we are back to where we are now.

It doesn’t really solve any problems, it just is a worse version of what already exists.

  • It’s 17% less than people in my company in the exact same role and position. I can see it on the pay scale they published themselves. Everyone agrees I deserve the average salary including my manager and our VP, I got fucked over. Thanks for showing up to tell me sexism isn’t real though and I just made it up.

I don’t care about them because it’s a start up and who knows when they will actually be worth anything, plus I have to vest them forever . They are worth $0

  • I already give minimal effort at work unfortunately, because I got screwed on my last raise too. But everyone doesn’t care anymore because this raise cycle was a joke. They’ll still be doing a similar amount of work for more pay. I wouldn’t consider leaving early worth staying, the benefit of an extra day is that I get to plan stuff on that day.

Yes I’m remote. I’ve already reported sexism to HR in other cases and they haven’t done anything about it. My company was rated “one of the best places to work for women” btw, those awards are a joke.

Not really sure of how I can justify staying then, but likely it will be the same shit or worse somewhere else even if I get more money from the get go. This isn’t my first rodeo.

The way I see it if people complain that’s my managers problem to figure out, not mine. Should have just paid me equally if they care about equality so much.

  • This is unfortunately how it works now. You can be fired or let go at any time and loyalty is dead. So don’t give employers your loyalty either. Don’t put in too much time at work and don’t get emotionally invested either. It’s fine to do with that will make your life easier so you can eventually put in more hours, but you could make the company billions of dollars or save billions of hours and they will cut you just the same as if you were shit at your job with no respect.
