uhhh…because the War on Drugs is a failed endeavor that mostly led to disproportionate jailing of black and brown Americans for smoking a plant? Because the illegal market is going to happen anyway, so the state might as well legalize, regulate, and collect taxes on it? what exactly is your concern? secondhand smoke? All of the smoking laws that apply to tobacco still apply to cannabis. People aren’t allowed to smoke indoors or at parks. Do people still do that and get away with it? Yeah sure, but that happened before legalization anyway.
