YAML is (mostly) a superset of JSON. Is the face hugger any less evil than the alien bursting out of your chest?

Getting deep into tech privacy has solved this for me. My browser essentially resets itself to factory defaults every time it opens. No more purple links!
So I’ve only been using nix about a year and only used flakes. I use in two ways.
First, I have my main nix flake. Most everything is controlled from that. It has several outputs from full blown nixos builds per host or some home manager builds for non-nixos systems.
Third-party flakes I use as inputs to my own flake then use the override system to inject them into nixpkgs. Then I just install whatever like normal from nixpkgs. I can either override an existing pkg (neovim nightly replaces regular neovim for me), or you can just add as a new package to nixpkgs by using a different attribute name.
Second way is for projects with their own repo. I’ll add a project flake that has a devshell with direnv so as soon as I enter that directory it sets up a sort of virtual environment just for that project. You can add outputs to it so others can use as a third-party flake.
My main starting point was https://github.com/Misterio77/nix-config for this design.
I was being cheeky, lol. Thanks for the update. Was not intending to come off as trying to start a serious conversation about gender identity. I debated throwing a /s but figured the rule 37 reference was enough.
You mean to tell me https://lemmy.blahaj.zone/c/unixsocks aren’t women? Fooled by Rule 37 again.
UHC is top insurance company per the stock market.
UHC denies the most claims costing people their lives who can’t afford medical care out of pocket.
Shooter is praised for pulling an uno reverse card on the UHC CEO by denying them medical care through taking their life.
You really want Thread over Matter
Do you mean over WiFi? Matter and Thread don’t have overlapping functionality. In the OSI model, Matter is like layers 6-7, Thread covers 3-5, and 802.15.4 is 1-2 (MACPHY).
Matter also works over Ethernet and WiFi.
ZigBee is like 3-7 also using 802.15.4.
Z-Wave is also like 3-7 with some sub-GHz MACPHY.
For Matter, low power devices and sleepy devices should use Thread to optimally conserve battery.
Ethernet > WiFi unless wireless is needed for other use cases like cameras, media boxes, dedicated power, etc.
Bluetooth (low energy) last I checked is only supported for commissioning a device. It does use the Matter protocol, and I’ve blinked some lights on test hardware over BLE, but it wasn’t officially supported.
What is the point of being dismissive of parent’s concerns and straight up misrepresenting what they said in the last “quote”?
I’m in favor of making the law gender neutral, and quickly without having answers to all these questions.
Doesn’t mean there won’t be unintended consequences that aren’t worth discussing to get ahead of them.
My gut reaction is if its legal in public does that make it legal in the media? Will publishers and advertisers use this to further objectify women? Even though I’m asking these questions, I’m 100% in favor of gender neutral laws for media and advertisements.
My off the cuff and likely unrealistic solution that has nothing to do with gender is to just ban most forms of advertising out right. This includes never requiring users to make the “choice” to agree to any ads in the terms of services in order to access goods and services (e.g., gas pumps, accessing a bank account, etc.).

Wording confused me at first glance also. Pretty much flexing he is not as smart as 91.9% of the population.
Correction, cost of goods is what I meant. I’m not going to Walmart just for the WiFi.
My comment was also meant to be sarcastic. Free WiFi while I spend my earnings, which I’d expect prices to reflect the cost of this service, in a giant metal box seems fair to me. Trading privacy as an extra cost I’m not okay with, so I won’t use it.
Also, you pay for your cellphone service, right? Are you paying for the wifi in the store? Nooooooo.
Yes? Indirectly its baked into the cost of service.
I have no empathy for most politicians or the harm they have done out of greed.
I’m not in favor of a single individual being judge, jury, and executioner.
Our system for dealing with corruption is insufficient and infected by the corrupt.
Other than some Ghandi-level mass nonviolent resistance, one is likely to just end up on the streets (as designed by the corrupt in question), or the way things are going, soon a wall.
It sucks…
Maybe the kiss-ass management. I either see the idiots touting the company line like its gospel or the ones who just want to get shit done as pissed off as everybody else. I’m sure there are those who abuse WFH, but they are driving all their talent away with these policies.
The useless buildings are probably more to blame. Need them tax breaks to min/max their property investments by pushing the cost of transportation onto the labor class.
And why the fuck are they allowed to be funding our representatives. “Do what we want with the wealth we didn’t earn or the bribes stop.”
Here’s the great thing, their dislike is a feature not a bug!
Last I remember it was based off LTS Ubuntu editions, so it could fall behind. Was awhile ago since I switched, but I remember having issues getting modern Bluetooth devices working. Had to override the kernel and manually download the chipset’s firmware files.
Most are crap ad mills anyways trying to game SEO. Only interesting ones I’ve read in the past couple years are technical deep dives where the creators don’t even care to put ads on it.
Password manager. Bitwarden does this. Signal too but that falls into your social media category.
