Ever heard of the USSR? Was a big thing once.
Erdäpfel!
I don’t have those, so that. That stops me from doing that.
Authoritarian left is a thing…
It’s bold to assume communists give to everybody, or basically anybody.

It’s Loony Toons physics.
BMI is generally a shitty indicator. I had 16 at some (rather long) point in my life, and now, I… let’s say, don’t. If his blood tests are fine and he’s functioning well, I’d let nature run its course, especially if he’s eating well. Pushing empty calories into him is just going to create food intake disorders.

That’s why you want a national health care program funded by taxes (they call it health insurance, but it’s mandatory and based on income, so it’s a tax, really). Private insurance is still allowed, but everyone gets a baseline.
Sure, this system has got its share of problems, and they’re massive, but if you need care, you generally receive it regardless of your financial situation. Again, bureaucracy happens and there are waiting times etc. etc., but the idea that you may lose everything because you got sick is so alien to me I have no words.
It shouldn’t exist? I’d like to see you pay for your medical expenses out of pocket.
P. S. No, I am not American.
Ok, now someone do a mere mortal take.
“Tell me the history of the world using a woo doctor and a scientist as actors.”
The amount of magical thinking around federated protocols both on Lemmy and Mastodon is astounding. Sure, design decisions make a difference, but federations gonna federate.
That’s bold of you to assume their emotional needs aren’t being met. Either you’re a parent whose basic checklist doesn’t include giving the kid a cuddle, or you’re not a parent, in which case rest assured that most parents’ checklists do contain cuddling their babies when they’re crying.
These jobs should be rewarded more, but lower-skill jobs should still provide for a decent life, which they don’t. Having to work two jobs is a failure of the system, not the individual.
Crypto craze, now AI, I think they’ll find something else when the bubble’s corrected. Enjoy the dough 😁
That nobody mentioned Transport Tycoon Deluxe is criminal. I recommend the live-action version recorded for the mobile release: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OuJy9oCdUns
