    The direct cause isn’t determined but they didn’t die violently or due to poison apparently.

    And I know what they mean to say this, via the following:

    Sviridov is the latest in a series of critics of the Russian establishment found inexplicably dead

    But I think we can probably explain why they are dead: Putie really doesn’t like critics.

      Lieutenant General Vladimir Sviridov, 68, and his wife Tatyana, 72, were found dead on Wednesday in their bedroom, said the Kyiv Post. They looked to have been dead for about a week before their discovery, according to the newspaper.

        They must have been super duper critical if no one noticed his disappearance for a week.

      The article says: the general and his wife have been found dead in their bed. Also there were no traces of violence or poison. When found, the bodies looked to be dead for about a week.

      Other Russian generals also died under similar mysterious circumstances, according to the article.
