    Tolerance is a social contract. Those who abide by it are protected by it. Those who reject it are not

      I see no reason to ‘tolerate’ pedophiles, for instance; are you saying that society should tolerate them? An extreme example, to be sure, but it’s still a valid example.

      Similarly I see no reason to tolerate fascism in my representative democracy. Nor do I see a reason to tolerate seditionists and traitors that seek to destroy my representative democracy. Are you also saying our society should tolerate them, as well?

      There are limits to everything, whether you like it or not. The alternative is chaos.

        You are agreeing with what he just said. It’s a social contract. Those who break the social contract, pedophiles, fascists, et al, are not protected by the social contract.

          shrug okay. Too many comments I’m responding to and it’s hard to keep track of them all, especially on a website I’m not that familiar with yet.
