[four months later] It was a good week, full of work and poor sleeping not caused by my kids. We’re progressing here. What about yours?
I would suggest moving to !parenting@lemmy.world , it’s a bit more active than this one
I will do! Thanks :)
Got them out of the house yesterday for a bit. We ended up at a friend’s house where the kids all watched a bit of a movie and ate pizza while a couple of us parents got to talk around the dinner table for a while. Summer camp starts next week which will be great for our rhythm.
Our 3 year old woke up at 4:30 this morning crying because he missed me so I went to his room to put him back down. Its now 6:45 and I have not been back to sleep. He knocked back out pretty quick though. At least his sheets weren’t wet, I am calling that a win.
Pretty great so far. We went to the museum today and I picked up a Tesla’s Sphere from the gift shop “for the child”.
In the process of slowly chopping up an odd “tree bush” that fell over but kept growing this past winter. Thought I could get away with a mini chainsaw, but after yesterday I’m starting to think I may need a “real” one 😅
This sucker has 10"+ trunks and lays about 25ft long
Pretty chill so far. Daughter just started gymnastics which has been super cool to watch.
Yesterday I busted my butt in the crawl space reapplying insulation to my sweaty air conditioning ducts. Now, I’m sitting in the parking lot at the boat ramp waiting for the sun to burn off a little fog before I launch, so I can’t complain too much.
Pretty good really. Kids are having a good time, and nothing major has broken.
I’m doing good besides the sun trying to scour me from the earth.
Saw the Broadway production of the Lion King in Columbus on father’s day.
Did slip in dog shit this morning however, so I have my kid pooper scoopering.
Happy cake day!
Pretty chill. Have my kids for two weeks, which is nice (albeit expensive in the grocery department 😅). My oldest contracted MRSA a couple weeks ago, and as a consequence they removed two of his fingernails.
Part of the healing process is to soak them in soapy water and then bandage them up for protection. This morning he woke me saying that one of his bandages came off in his sleep, and wanted to do his soak early. He’s healing nicely.
We’ve been hanging at the beach all week. My 3 year old has been loving it! My 1 year old has been indifferent, but at least she’s not hating it. We also have a bunch of family with us, so there are some extra hands to take care of the kids.
My kids go to the beach every year with their mother’s extended family. They have a blast of course, and get to play with their cousins and hangout with the grandparents and aunts and uncles.
Off work with shingles, primarily due to it potentially being contagious and I work in a hospital. It hasn’t hit me as bad as others who’ve had it so I’ve kinda just got a week off.
Was a shame not to be able to take my toddler to class when she wasn’t at nursery, but we had fun in the garden and went to a bookshop instead.
