  • “Get off my lawn kids. And god forbid we train people.”

The common man won’t go out of their way to learn a software they don’t even know they will use. Why is it somehow worst for young people?

The personal computer as we grew up with is long gone, but somehow, companies and hiring managers expect everyone to be like it is still the case.

And let’s be real, the vast majority of people don’t know how to use excel even if they work with it every day. For them, it’s a database with a UI and a chart module.

So yeah, ask for 5 years experience for an entry level data entry position, that’ll fix it for you.

  • Even though Facebook is a terrible inhumane corporation, they have the best product because it is lightweight, can be used without any base station and can be used without a pc-link.

The fact that a VR set requires at minimum a 5x5 feets space with a computer within the vicinity is definitely hurting the VR market.

So I just hope that we get something akin to the Quest but without the evil corporation bit.

When I played Elite Dangerous with a VR headset, man was it magical. But I won’t dedicate a small room and a PC just for that experience.

  • The direction that the company is taking. Clearly that Bitwarden feels like other open source projects are diverting revenue from them.

That’s a small step towards enshittification. They close this part of the software, then another part until slowly it is closed source.

We’ve seen this move over and over.

Stopping your business with Bitwarden over that issue sends a message that many customers don’t find this acceptable. If enough people stop using their service, they have a chance to backtrack. But even then, if they’ve done it once, they’ll try it again.

Your current price is 10$/year now. But the moment a company tries to cull any open source of their project is the moment they try to cash it in.
