Allow taking as much as one wants (within reason & as you are able to do now under capitalism) for as long as things are instock, of course their should be checkout counters to make sure things are not running low, measure popular itens, to keep in stock etc. Needing currency to get what you need or want is silly.

I have & hate gas ranges. The smell of gas when first igniting is gross, each time I need to cook food.
